冷床主要有拔齿式冷床、齿条步进式冷床、拨爪式冷床、运载链式冷床、滚盘式冷床等。

将已轧制成型产品通过辊道输送进入冷床，再由齿条步进式拔齿等形式，将排列在冷床上的工件逐步移向冷床顶端，达到了工件的冷却效果。
